NBC Wins EHC Quiz Bowl
Team Goes 7-0 to Win Tournament

The NBC Quiz Bowl team won the East Husker Conference tournament April 6th at Scribner-Snyder. The team of Melanie Hall, Patrick OBrien, Nick Lynch, and led by team captain Cassandra Tyrrell, was undefeated on the night, capturing NBC's first Quiz Bowl Championship. NBC defeated teams from Tekamah-Herman, Logan View, and Oakland-Craig (twice), in preliminary pool play to enter the tournament 4-0 as the number one seed. A close-call win over Lyons-Decatur Northeast in the first round, led to wins over Logan View in the semi's and Oakland-Craig for the Title. The win marks the first time any school other than Wisner-Pilger has won the tournament since it began four years ago. The team prepared for the tournament through extensive reading, studying, and practicing on nearly 3000 questions. By winning, the team qualifies to represent ESU2 at the state Academic Quiz Bowl at the end of April.
