It's Journal Time!

by Deb Andrews

Journal time in kindergarten is a wonderful time of learning!  Kindergartners draw a picture on the top part of each page and then set to work writing sentences using invented spelling to describe his/her artistic creation.

Jarrett wrote:  I like Jake!  I see Jake!  I love NEBRASKA.

Sami drew a North Bend cheerleader and then created the following paragraph:  The North Bend Tigeres are my fabererate team!  I love tigeres a lot!  They are good!

Emily drew a big black pot with purple handles and her sentences included:  My pot is here I like pots.  My pot is black.  Do you like my pot?  This pot is big.  My pot is purple.
