Sixth Graders Skype with Seventh Graders

by Amy Sterup

The 6th grade class had the opportunity to ask the 7th graders questions about typing and then some general questions about being a Junior High student through Skype. Mrs. Gross-Rhode and Mrs. Yount set it up so the students could see each other and talk while not leaving their own classrooms. It is just like talking on the phone, except you can see the other end of the conversation and vice versa. It is all set up through the computer.

If you would be interested in how Skype works, go to Skype.com and download it for free on your computer. All you need is a computer with a camera and someone else on the other end of the line with a camera and computer. It would be great way for Grandparents and Grandchildren to talk to each other, especially if they live miles apart.
