About NBCPS|Student Fees Handbook

STUDENT FEES/ADMISSION PRICES

Dan Endorf, Supt.

Board Policy 3370 governs all student fees for North Bend Central Public Schools.  There are no specific fees for participation in extracurricular activities although students are responsible for providing some uniform and equipment components.  No curricular fees are charged.  Students who qualify as low income (ie., eligibile for free/reduced lunches) can receive a waiver for some fees.  Questions about fee waivers should be directed to Superintendent Dan Endorf (652-3268), NBC High School Principal Brenda Petersen (652-3268) or Elementary Principal Caryn Ziettlow (652-8122).

STUDENT FEES: No significant changes were made to the district's Student Fee Policy for 2009-10 at the Board hearing on July 13. The following clarification was made: "For the 2009-10 school year and Summer, 2010, the Superintendent is authorized to approve participation and materials fees for voluntary credit recovery and advanced credit courses offered outside of the regular school day, voluntary correspondence courses, and the ACT Test Preparation course offered by the District. Summer Driver’s Education, an optional non-credit course, is offered for a tuition of $130.00 for resident and option-enrolled NBCPS students. The fee is $200.00 for non-resident students. However, these amounts may be changed by the Board of Education prior to the 2010 offering."

GAME ADMISSION: There are no changes in student admission fees for NBCPS games and activities. However, adult admission fees have been increased to $5.00 per game. Here is a summary:

(1) Admission Fees. Unless otherwise specified in Board Policy, admission fees for students to NBCPS sponsored activities shall not exceed $3.00 in 2009-10. There are exceptions for Conference and NSAA-hosted events and for fund-raising activities by school groups.
No admission is charged to junior high activities except for dances and the junior high school play. Admission to these events will not exceed $3.00. No admission fees are charged for elementary (Gr. K-6) activities. Elementary students attending secondary school (Gr. 7-12) activities are charged the student admission fee designated for the event.
Junior/Senior High students may purchase an NBC Activity Card which provides admission to home games directly sponsored by the District for a flat fee. For 2009-10, that fee will be $25.00. This equates to less than $1.00 per event. Elementary students (K-6) may purchase an Activity Pass for $30. It provides admission to 15 events at $2.00 per event, a dollar savings from the regular admission of $3.00. Adults may purchase a 10-event Activity Pass, but it's cost is $40. That also represents a savings of one dollar per event from the regular $$5.00 admission charge.

Admission charges for students at NBC events will be levied as listed below. However, these rules are for local events only; a different admission structure may be necessary when NBC hosts East Husker Conference Tournament or NSAA-sponsored events.

**For NBCPS-sponsored athletic events, there will be no admission charge for participating athletes, non-participating team members in the same sport, and those students designated by the coaches as student managers, statistics keepers, video tapers, and other assistants. No admission will be charged for Cheerleaders and Dance Team members who are in uniform and performing at the event. No admission will be charged for Marching Band members in uniform and performing at the event.

**Pep Band members (non-uniformed) on the Band Director’s participation list will be charged a discounted admission fee. For 2009-10 that admission fee is $1.00. Pep Band members may use their NBC Activity Card in lieu of the admission.

**Concession stand sponsors may designate up to twelve (12) student workers and these students will not be charged an admission fee. Concession stand workers beyond that number will be charged regular admission.
