NBC Industrial Technology at a Glance

8th Grade Industrial Technology is a one quarter exploratory course introducing students to Mechanical Drawing, Balsa Wood Bridge Engineering, Safety and Wood Manufacturing.
9-12 Industrial Technology Applications is a full year course introducing the students to the 4 basic areas of Ind. Tech.; Communication, Construction, Manufacturing, and Energy, Power and Transportation. Mechanical Drawing, Computer Aided Drafting, Architectural Drawing, CO-2 dragsters, Balsa Wood Tower Engineering, Safety and Wood Manufacturing are a few of the activities included in this course.
10-12 Woodworking is one of the "traditional" courses offered at N. B. C. This is a year-long course including; safety, planning and the manufacture of approved woodworking projects.
10-12 Small Engine is a one semester course which involves an extensive look into the theory, parts, tools, repairs, troubleshooting and working basics of the 4 stroke cycle internal combustion engine.
10-12 Welding is a one semester course which includes safety and student experience with the following types of welding apparatus; Arc, Wire-Fed, Oxy-Acetylene Fusion, Oxy-Acetylene Brazing, Oxy-Acetylene Cutting and Plasma Arc Cutting.
10-12 Tech. Math is a year long course introducing the student to "shop-related" Math. Examples of topics covered in this course include; Board feet, roofing, concrete, electrical math, automotive math and welding-related math problems just to mention a few.
