If you are going to state cross country, your parents need to call by Thursday morning and you need to come to the office to get your pre-excused homework slip. In order to have this be an excused absence, you need to sign the paper in the office and check in with Mr. Baehr on Friday.

High School and Middle School Annual Band Fees are due this TODAY. The fee is $15.

Fall has arrived and the mornings and sometimes the afternoons are chilly. Please dress appropriately and bringing a jacket or hoodie. Students, please do not bring blankets as they will not be allowed in the classroom.

Spanish Club- Our next meeting will be Saturday October 9th from 6:30 pm-9:00 pm. Please sign up outside of room 25.

All 9-12 grade volleyball players, please send a picture of you with your parents to Mrs. Schwanebeck by the end of the week. This will be used on the Parent’s Night slide show.

High School and Middle School Band Students: The annual band fee is due Friday October 8th. Each student owes $15. Please bring the band fee to Mr. Crowley!

Mrs. Nelson is extending the HOSA dues deadline to this Friday, October 8th. She’s pretty sure more than 5 of you are interested in being members... A reminder that dues are $30; $10 for local only.

Starting on MONDAY, snacks sold during TAP will be cash only. You will not be able to charge anything to your account any more during TAP.

National Honor Society Membership Selection - Check your email! Applications due October 8th!
We are changing the timeline for National Honor Society member selection. We will now be doing selection in the fall. This enables new senior members to add NHS to their resumes, plus provides new sophomore, junior, and senior members a chance to be more involved in NHS activities during their initiation year. The first requirement for NHS membership is to have a cumulative GPA of 93% or above. All students in grades 10-12 with a qualifying GPA were sent an invitation to complete the application. If you have a CUMULATIVE GPA (that means all semesters of your high school career combined) of a 93% or above and did not receive this email, please talk to Ms. Morgan.

Second Go Flu Clinic: Tuesday, October 20th from 2:30pm-4:30pm at the High School Cafeteria. For those that missed out or still need a Flu vaccine, please sign up on the form online for a correct vaccine count. This is for any staff & students’ first and then com- munity members. Please maintain social distancing guidelines. Forms supplied on the nurse website or in the front office. Please bring insurance information. Junior High boys will have basketball checkout TODAY after school in the South commons. If you ride the bus, please come see Mr. Schluter during TAP.

Picture retake orders are due Wednesday, October 21.

There will be a brief meeting for any 9th - 12th grade boy that intends to play basketball in the upcoming season. This meeting will be Tuesday October 20th at 7:50 a.m. If you plan to play basketball this season you need to attend or talk to Coach Baehr ahead of time.

Please plan for a little bit more time getting to school due to the construction on Walnut Street!

Parking lot — Vehicles may not back into stalls when parking their vehicle. If you are parked incorrectly please come to the front office so sign out to move your vehicle.

Thank you all for your patience and willingness to be flexible during this difficult every changing time. Below is our new process for athletic events.
Students wishing to attend athletic events at NBC will need to have a ticket for admittance to the activity. Each participant will get an allotted amount to distribute to family and friends. If participants do not give out all their tickets we ask that they bring them to
the office to be shared with the student body. Students who wish to attend the game but did not receive a ticket may come to the front office and sign up for the lottery. The lottery will be drawn at the end of the day on game day for student to receive a ticket. Please note that this ticket does not get you free admittence to the game, you will still have to pay the gate fee.

A HOLD is something you anticipate having time to read in the next few weeks. Please limit the number of holds. I had to delete some holds. 3) There is a 3 book maximum for checking out books. Also for holds. 4) Use FAVORITE for books you would like to read when you are finished with the current book. Keep up the good work!

  4. Plant sales have begun. Sophomores will be taking orders for plants until April 3. Plants can be picked up on April 29. Surprise your mother and grandmother with an early Mother’s Day gift!!!

  1. Prom reservations are due on Friday. There is a $15 charge for dates that are not in the
    NBC junior or senior class. This and any funds that juniors owe must be paid when you RSVP. There will be an extra $5.00 charge on late RSVPs.

  2. NBC Blood Drive will be Wednesday, March 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the old gym. !6 year old can donate with parent permission form filled out that is in the office. Everyone will need to bring an I.D.

  3. Senior Student Council members there will be a meeting in my room Tuesday, March 10th right after school at 3:35 to discuss the blood drive. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT!!!

  4. Taking the ACT this spring? If so, sign up to participate in the John Baylor test review before school. Deadline to register is March 13th, cost is $40. Sessions begin on March 17th. See Mrs. Ray to sign up.

  5. Sign up for cheer and dance tryouts is located outside the tech office. Tryouts will be held March 21st. There will be a meeting for all interested in trying out for the 2020-2021 Cheer or Dance Team on Wednesday, March 11 in the library at 7:45. You will get your packets which must be completed in order to try out, as well as the tryout practice schedule. Please plan to attend. If you cannot attend, please see Mrs. Schwanebeck.

  6. Spanish Club: Our next meting will be Thursday March 19th from 630-9. we will be celebrating the Basque of Spain with a great movie “Errementari” and some Basque burned cheesecake (apparently its delicioso....) Sign up at room 25 so I know you are coming! ALSO...t-shirts and hoodies need to be ordered. Order forms are available in room 25. T shirts $15 and hoodies $25. Orders and money need to be turned in by March 20th.

  7. Track practice begins Thursday for all girls going out for track who were participating in varsity basketball. If any individual would like to begin before Thursday you are welcome to do so. Any questions see Coach Voss after school.

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team on your State Championship!

Reminder for State Tournament: $7 for adults/$5 for students

Signs and Banners. Signs and banners that are not directed at the opposition and are not derogatory in nature
may be placed on walls behind the seating areas in the High Schools ONLY. There will be no signs or banners allowed at the Devaney Sports Center or Pinnacle Bank Arena. These signs or banners will not be permitted on walls or the stands near the playing floor. Signs, banners, and school flags should not be carried around the floor. Signs that are not political, obscene, or in bad taste may be posted within the playing facility as long as the signs do not interfere with the spectators’ view of the game or with the playing of the game. No balloons inside the facility. Artificial Noisemakers. The use of artificial noisemakers is prohibited. (Examples: air horns,whistles, bells, Thunder Sticks, etc.)

Both Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Devaney Sports Center have a “clear bag policy” that will be enforced for spectators. Student media members WILL NOT be subject to this policy when using the designated media entrance.

Paid internships AND college sponsorships are available to get your degree after high school paid for! Juniors should be planning their college visits for over the summer and we want you to be aware of these programs before you plan those trips!

  4. Optimist Club Baseball and Softball registration days: Wednesday 2/19 5:00-7:30PM at PVB Conference Center. If unable to attend, forms will be available at the bank 2/20. Registration deadline is Friday, 2/28.

Students attending State wrestling on Thursday can receive a student activity absence if they provide the school with a parent note by 9:00 am Wed morning and check in with Mr. Allgood at the CHI Center Thursday for Session 1. If you have any questions, see Mr Allgood or Mrs. Petersen. Please remember the clear bag policy.
