Students Donate Blood

On November 5, 2025, the NBC Student Council hosted a blood drive in partnership with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) at North Bend Central. The event resulted in 27 units of blood donated by students and staff, helping support local hospitals and patients in need.

Founded in 1968, the NCBB is a nonprofit, community-based blood center that provides lifesaving blood and blood products to hospitals and other organizations throughout Nebraska and western Iowa. The organization relies on donations from local community members to maintain a safe and stable blood supply. Students under 16 were even able to participate with a signed parental permission form, highlighting the community’s commitment to giving back.

“It’s incredible to see how our small school continues to make a big impact. Big thanks to everyone who rolled up their sleeves—27 units strong! We’re already excited to beat that amount next time,” said NBC Student Council Sponsor, Aubrey Miller.

In recognition of their efforts, the NCBB will award a scholarship to NBC Student Council seniors for all of their hard work on the blood drive.
