🎃 Worth the wait! After being rained out last week, our NBC Preschool classes made it to Harvest Moon Pumpkin Patch yesterday! Students explored the many activities and enjoyed the beautiful weather. A fun day of fall adventures for our littlest Tigers! 🐯🍂
NBC had a little fun at both buildings last week while raising money for Pink Out Week!
At the elementary school, staff volunteers challenged students to a coin war, with a pie in the face promised to the staff member who raised the most money. Students went above and beyond, raising $400.79—so ALL the volunteers got pied! 🥧👏
At the high school, students donated to decide which staff member would spend Friday decked out in special pink accessories. Mr. Nelson took the top spot, raising $104 and rocking the pink! 💗
A huge thank-you to our willing staff volunteers and everyone who donated. Thank you for making fundraising for a great cause so much fun!
Stay tuned—the grand total raised during Pink Out Week will be announced soon! 🐯💗

Hands-on learning at Clarkson College! 🧬
Mrs. Schluter took Anatomy & Physiology students and Science Club members to an event sponsored by Live On Nebraska this week. Students explored the organ donation process and learned about the different roles involved in making donation possible. They even had the opportunity to touch a human heart and placenta!
A great day of learning, exploring, and connecting classroom science to real-world experiences. Thank you to Clarkson College and Live On Nebraska for this opportunity! 🧡🖤

🎗️ Tigers teaming up for a cause! 🧡🖤
Last month, the NBC Volleyball team partnered with Angels Among Us to raise awareness and funds in the fight against pediatric cancer. With the help of Abby Smeal, Nicki Chromy, and Kris Dvorak, $4,487.14 was raised for Angels Among Us!
A heartfelt thank-you to Abby, Nicki, Kris, our business sponsors, and everyone in our community who supported this effort. Thank you for helping make a difference! 💛
🧩 Every piece matters!
Sixth graders in Mrs. Wess’s Teen Issues class put their communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills to the test with a fun, hands-on challenge! Each student colored one piece of a 20-square picture, knowing only the general colors to use. Then, they worked together to assemble the pieces and reveal the final image!
Along the way, students practiced problem-solving, patience, and working through challenges as a team. Their biggest takeaway? Be kind to yourself—and remember that everyone brings something valuable to the bigger picture! 🧡🖤

On Friday, Mrs. Siroky’s class read one of her favorite Halloween books, Big Pumpkin! 🎃 The witch sent them a special pumpkin pie recipe, but there was one problem… it was all mixed up! The kindergarteners worked together to put the steps in the correct order before putting their baking skills to the test!
They practiced sequencing, following directions, and counting all while making a tasty treat! 🥧 It was all thumbs up for the pumpkin pie! 👍

📚🎭 From page to stage! 5th graders brought Esperanza Rising to life with their own readers’ theater performances. Students chose scenes from the book, wrote their scripts, and performed for their classmates. What a fun way to let their creativity shine and step into the characters’ shoes! 👏
🚒 Hands-on learning with our hometown heroes!
